Account safety and security tips

The safety of your account and funds is our top priority. A few simple habits can keep your JMarkets account well protected. The tips below will help you protect your JMarkets account and recognize common unauthorized access attempts.

Note: JMarkets representatives are not allowed to ask for your passwords, 2FA PIN code, verification codes or personal payment details.

Protect your login details

  • Never share your passwords, PIN, or verification codes with anyone, even if the person says they work for JMarkets. This applies to your Personal Area password and your trading account passwords.

  • Use a strong and unique password. Avoid birthdays, names or common phrases and do not use the same password on other websites.

  • Set up the 2FA PIN code for extra protection. For instructions, you can check our article “How to set up and change 2FA PIN code”.

  • Protect your email and phone number. Confirmation codes are sent to your registered email or phone number, so anyone who gets access to them can get your codes. Use a strong password and two-factor authentication for your email account too.

Check before you log in or click

  • Check the website address before you enter your password or codes. This applies to every link, including links from a chat or messenger. Fake websites look identical but use a slightly different address.

  • Be careful with unexpected messages. If you did not start the conversation and the message pushes you to click a link, please do not follow it.

  • The safest way to log in is through the JMarkets Trading App or a bookmark you saved yourself.

  • Download MetaTrader 4/5 only from official sources: the JMarkets website or check our Trading Platforms section for all official download links.

Official JMarkets domains

Always check the domain in your browser’s address bar before logging in or entering any sensitive information.

Know the warning signs

Messages can look very professional and may use JMarkets logos, names and design. Be careful if someone:

  • Promises guaranteed profit, risk-free trading or special bonuses

  • Offers to trade or manage your account for you and asks for your login and password

  • Asks you to install remote access software (for example AnyDesk or TeamViewer)

  • Asks you to transfer money to a personal bank account, wallet, or crypto address, for example to "unlock" your account or a bonus

  • Pushes you to act urgently ("your account will be blocked", "verify now")

  • Offers to recover lost funds for an upfront fee or commission

If you encounter such messages:

  1. Do not reply or click any links provided by the sender

  2. Block the contact and report the account if you are using a messenger or social media

  3. Contact our official support team via chat on our website or the Support Hub to verify the information

How to check if a message is genuine

Emails from JMarkets normally come from addresses ending in @jmarkets.com. Check the full sender address, not only the name shown in the message. Be careful with look alike addresses that differ by one letter or symbol, for example @jmarket (without "s").

Our official social media accounts are linked on the JMarkets website and in the footer of this Help Center. Messages from other accounts using our name or logo may not be from us. You can always check if the page or messenger account is our official with our Support Team in chat.

If you are not sure that a message, call or link is genuine:

  • Do not share any personal or account information

  • Do not click links and do not install anything you were sent

  • End the conversation and contact us via chat on our website or the Support Hub

Keep your devices secure

  • Lock your devices. Set a PIN or password and a short auto lock timer. Log out of your Personal Area when you finish, especially on shared computers.

  • Enable biometric login (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) in the JMarkets Trading App settings.

  • Keep your operating system, browser, and apps up to date to fix security vulnerabilities and use an antivirus on your computer.

  • Avoid logging in over public Wi-Fi networks without proper protection.

  • Do not save your passwords in the browser on shared devices.

Deposits and withdrawals

  • Use only payment accounts that belong to you. Deposits from third parties are not accepted. For more details, check out our article “Can I use payment accounts of friends or relatives for deposits”.

  • Always double check payment details before you confirm a transaction.

  • Make deposits only from the Personal Area. Do not use any payment details shared with you via email, social media or messengers - such deposits are not official and will not reach your trading account.

What to do if you think your account was compromised

If you notice activity you do not recognize or you shared your credentials with someone, take these steps immediately:

  1. Change your Personal Area password. See “How to change the Personal Area password”. Please note that after changing the password, withdrawals are not available for 24 hours.

  2. Reset your trading account passwords. See “How to reset a trading account password”

  3. Logout from all active sessions. Go to Security Settings and Log out from active sessions.

  4. Secure your email account. Change your email password and check that no unknown forwarding rules or devices are connected.

  5. Check your activity. Review your Transaction History and trading history for operations you do not recognize.

  6. Contact us via chat on our website or the Support Hub. Choose “Website and Personal Area → Personal Area security issues”. Describe what happened and when and attach any relevant screenshots. See “How to submit and track your request in the Support Hub”
